Bringing Creativity, Community, and HubSpot Together in CPT an JHB.
In a world where networking events often feel like another sales pitch or another conference room presentation, we decided to do things differently. Cook & Connect was created to give our clients and prospects something refreshing — a chance to step outside their offices, get creative, and genuinely connect with one another in a relaxed, hands-on environment. No agendas. No pressure. No “here’s what you’re doing wrong” slides. Just real people, real conversations, and real connection.

Who Attended
The events brought together a mix of clients and prospects at various stages of their business journeys — marketers, business owners, and decision-makers looking to elevate their marketing and operations. It was also a chance for everyone to meet the MO Agency team in person, especially Luke (MO Agency CEO) Seb (Business Development Manager), Dollie (HubSpot Rep), and the social team, who are normally behind the screens. Our goal was to show that while we are deeply integrated into the digital world, our on-the-ground presence is strong, human, and invested in the success of every client we work with.
Where
We took Cook & Connect on the road, hosting two events across South Africa:
- Cape Town at Food Jams, a vibrant space known for its collaborative cooking experiences and creative culinary energy.
- Johannesburg at The Cookery, a warm, modern cooking studio perfect for hands-on, team-driven food experiences.
Each venue offered something unique — from specialised ingredients to structured recipes to the freedom for attendees to go completely off-script. These spaces encouraged creativity, experimentation, and collaboration, perfectly aligning with the spirit of the event.

For What: A Moment for HubSpot.
While Cook & Connect wasn’t a HubSpot sales event, the platform was very much part of the bigger picture. By connecting clients and prospects in a relaxed, human setting, we were planting the seeds for future conversations around growth, marketing, and the systems that support them. HubSpot being a natural part of that journey.
Rather than a hard sell, we focused on building relationships. When clients think about marketing, automation, or scaling next year, they’ll remember MO Agency at the centre of these connections — and how HubSpot fits into a people-first growth mindset.

Cape Town Event at Food Jams
At our CPT Cook & Connect, guests gathered at Food Jams for a culinary trip “around the world.” This theme encouraged participants to tap into their creativity, combine flavours, and let instinct guide them. The competitive spirit came out quickly — with teams improvising, adding personal touches, and exploring new techniques.
One attendee even made fresh pasta completely from scratch, using only the provided ingredients and sheer passion. Others took the brief and bent it in the most creative ways possible — proving that marketers and business owners aren’t just creative in the boardroom.
The Cape Town session uncovered new hobbies, unexpected talents, and fresh conversations, all in a relaxed environment where people could speak about more than work. By the end, strangers became collaborators, and collaborators became friends.
Johannesburg Event at The Cookery
The JHB edition, hosted at The Cookery, took guests into the colourful world of Mexican cuisine. The group embraced the vibrant flavours, bold spices, and hands-on food prep that Mexican cooking demands.
This session carried the same energetic spirit — guests mixing, tasting, laughing, tweaking recipes, and showing off hidden cooking skills they didn’t always know they had. Once again, the goal wasn’t to execute the “perfect dish” but to collaborate, explore, and enjoy a shared creative outlet far removed from the workday.
The Wrap-Up
Cook & Connect was an experiment — an unorthodox one, and it worked. By stepping outside traditional event structures, we gave our community a chance to breathe, create, collaborate, and connect on a deeper level.
Whether attendees meet again in a boardroom, at a future event, or over a shared project, they’ll do so knowing one another beyond their job titles. And they’ll remember MO Agency and HubSpot as the partners who brought them together.
Two cities. One idea. Countless connections. And this is just the beginning.
